Hello everybody,

I do not know if this is the forum I should ask about EAD but I did not know where else so.... My question is: what form do I have to fill in for my EAD renewal that expires 10/10/2007?

My conditional green card expires 8/25/2008.

I read on the USCIS web site that for the renewal of the EAD I HAVE TO PAY $340 :o

I NEED HELP! PLEASE!

You don't have to renew your EAD. Your GC is proof that you are employment authorised and a (conditional) permanent resident. In fact, you don't even need your EAD anymore. Just put it away in your immigration files as a souvenir! :)

ARE YOU SURE? I HAVE A "CONDITIONAL GREEN CARD" so I amnot a permanent resident.

CAN I CALL USCIS TO CHECK? WHAT NUMBER I SHOULD CALL?

Yes, you ARE a permanent resident. And you ARE employment authorised, and you do NOT need an EAD any more. And that is exactly what USCIS will tell you if you call them - if you don't trust what you've been told here and want to call them (and speak to some more than likely ill-advised customer service person) the number is 1-800-375-5283. But they will tell you that your green card (conditional or otherwise) IS your employment authorisation. Honestly, there are hundreds of conditional permanent residents posting on this site (like me, for instance... and Misa who originally answered you), all of whom are employment authorised - you don't need to call USCIS to check on what you've been told! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

:yes: The green card gives you the authorization to work. Yea, save that card, you can tell your grandchildren stories :P My wife saves everything so I am sure I will be seeing her EAD for years to come

It even says on the back of the GC that you are authorised to work...

Dug it out. The exact wording is, "The person identified by this card is authorized to work and reside in the U.S."

THANK YOU!

I am sorry that I sounded like I do not trust you but I am so afraid of doing something wrong and after that to wait couple of month to fix it.

I AM SO SORRY!

I just called the USCIS and they confirmed what everybody said.... I appologize again :( !

PS: On the back of the card it says "The person indentified by this card is authorized to work and reside in the US"

That's okay. If it makes you feel any better you can send me the renewal fees. ;) (just kidding)
