STUPID QUESTION - DALLAS DORA

On the Dallas service center website under the DORA program it says that I-130 based applications are eligible for DORA. My wife came in on a K1 Visa. I assume we have to file the OLD way and NOT through the DORA program? Am I correct, because I see a lot of posts from people who have gone through DORA with k1 visas.............................................................

As far as I know, if you live in the Dallas area and file for AOS, you file DORA. I found the DORA instructions confusing, to say the least. I thought we had to turn in an I-130 for DORA, but really all we needed was the approved I-129F (basically NOA2). We were K-1 and filed for AOS via DORA at the Dallas Office.

Thanks so much..........you are right about the instructions being VERY unclear. We had a lawyer on the first part, which was a total waste of money. (She really did not know any more than WE do about the process) We're going to do the second part ourselves.

Ive heard alot of complaints from others who used lawyers, so I dont blame you for going at it alone. We've done the whole thing on our own, but never could have gotten this far without VJ. Its been a huge help. Best of luck to you :) And feel free to PM me if I can be of any further help.
