My husband's sick... he got a cold last weekend and now he says it's turned into bronchitis (which it usually does because his lungs are screwed up...) He had it at thanksgiving and was horribly sick, and I HOPED that this time we could nip it in the bud with some antibiotics, but no such luck - he called the doctor on wednesday to try and make an appointment and they said the soonest they could see him was NEXT Wednesday! By then he'll probably be better and won't need the damned appointment! Either that or he'll have walking pneumonia :( And this is WITH medical insurance...

No walk-in option? We have that here at the desk and it's called prompt care. They take walk-ins for a certain portion of the day and assist you in order of need.

12/5/05 Sent I129F Petition to Nebraska via Express Mail

12/6/05 Packaged received at 10:38 am in Nebraska

12/9/05 Check cashed (Never been so happy to have money leave my account)

12/12/05 Receive NOA1 snail mail - 30-60 day processing estimate

01/04/06 Receive NOA2 via e-mail

1/20/06 NVC letter in mail...will ship within a week.

2/1/06 Packet 3 and 4 in the mail

3/15/06 Interview - neither approved nor declined need to send in Migratory Movement Certificate AP

3/20/06 Migratory Movement Certificate for myself and fiancee sent to US Embassy in Lima

3/23/06 Visa Approved

5/19/06 I leave for Peru to pick up mi amor

5/25/06 Lucia and I arrive in Chicago

7/01/06 Legal Marriage

9/09/06 Religious Wedding

Not at the doc that DH decided we should use... he only sees patients for about five hours a day too, because the rest of the time he's doing medical exams for Immigration and the RTA etc... That was the main reason we chose him - because I could get my medical done there and I wouldn't have to go to a strange place...

I am a nurse at a clinic and really feel for the patients that are sick and need to get in, but there are days it is not physically possible. The doctors I work for like to spend quality time with the patients and not rush them in and out. When there is only 8 hours in the day, it makes it VERY HARD to accomodate everyones needs. We also suggest patients to go to walk in clinics here in town because we have many of them and the doctors are very qualified. We don't want the patients to suffer either, but during the sick seaons, there isn't a lot the nurses and doctors can do. :( And unfortunatly, being the nurse I get to hear it all. :P

i feel with ya, i have a cyst on the top of my hand pushing against the tendents, and its VERY painful and i lose feeling in my hand very often, and the soonest ANY orthopedic doctor in town can see me is JANUARY 17 2007!!! yes 2007. so i have to suffer til then? i dunno what to do

Sometimes I REALLY miss the Australian medical system... not that my doctor was much better in the seeing him department, but at least the hospital was free if it was really an emergency!

What are the requirements of the insurance if there is a serious medical situation? Bronchitis could become serious if not treated.
