You forget, flag burning is an "issue" in this country.

Oh yeah, you're right, point taken... maybe I should have been clearer and pointed out that those things aren't issues and are very unlikely to become ones (as you certainly can make issues of currently non-occurring things).

42% of all dog related deaths in the US are from Pit Bulls - & they constitute 1% of all dogs. 70% of those deaths were children.

is the reason they banned them. A child has no chance against a dog like that.

This is what a pitbull attack on a child looks like. http://aussie_news_views.typepad.com/aussi...bull_attack.jpg

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The breed needs to change or cease to exist, IMO.

I kind of agree. The problem with these few dog breeds is that men can't control them. Dogs are different from guns in the sense that a man is always in control of his gun, but he is never fully in control of his dog. Having killer dogs (or rabbits) with nasty, big, pointy teeth, is clearly a health hazard.

Mother Nature is extremely cruel and vicious - often more so than man who has

lowered himself to some pretty despicable acts. Most wild animals die slowly and

painfully either through starvation or predation. Weak and sick animals are

usually taken first. The animal world doesn't play by our rules - they don't

understand "theft", "rape" or "murder".

When two dogs fight, you call it "morally wrong", I call it "nature".

But.... The act of orchestrating the fight is not "natural".

Just making a quick point here... it doesn't matter if a thing is "natural" or not, it still won't make it a moral argument for or against a particular thing. Abortions, homosexuality, tobacco smoking etc. are all "unnatural", but it doesn't mean that these things would be morally wrong because of it (of course there are other arguments for or against their morality).

I think when it comes down to exploiting the suffering of animals for pleasure and profit most reasonable people would interpret it to be an amoral activity.

Of course and I do think it's a disgusting practice. Still, there are better arguments than the appeal to nature (which really isn't a valid argument).

Well that wasn't my argument. Mawilson made a general statement that dogs fighting is a natural activity. My response was that it in the context of what we are talking about it is clearly not.

What a freakin moron. Surry is not the deep south anyway. I have driven through it a number of times to take the ferry, across the James, to Williamsburg.. It is 390 miles from NYC while 1,000 miles from Mississippi..

The guy also lives in Atlanta. Hardly a backwards city..

Strangely enough she does look like this guy..

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
