What a freakin moron. Surry is not the deep south anyway. I have driven through it a number of times to take the ferry, across the James, to Williamsburg.. It is 390 miles from NYC while 1,000 miles from Mississippi..

The guy also lives in Atlanta. Hardly a backwards city..

I think dog fighting is abhorrent. Unfortunately, Whoppi is right in that it seems to have a strong foothold in the south. This article tells more.

Hunting dogs are fairly common in the south too. These animals are not always treated very well either. We have a "rescued" hunting dog. To be fair though, hounds are happiest in a pack, following a scent trail. Training them not to do this is nearly impossible. (They are hunters, after all..)
