Hello, I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the topic of the affidavit of support. I am currently employed and making enough to be over the poverty lines for my fiance and I. Though I only have several thousand in the bank, is that enough not to get a co-sponsor? Or do I need a large sum in the bank along with being employed. I have very few assets and not enough stating on the form. I appreciate your help :)

It is optional whether you want to add your savings account or any assets you may have. however, if you are above the poverty line and earning enough to support yourself, your dependents (if any) and the beneficiary, then you can just use the amount of money you are getting from your current employer(s).

My income was way over the poverty level so didn't worry about showing my savings bank account. I did include 12 months of my checking account.

Thanks for your input it seems as if I need to be above the poverty line and not have lots of money in the bank. That is such a relief because we weren't sure who could be our co-sponsor. This is great news thanks!
