I just wanted to double check that everything with my husband's AOS application is back on track, after having responded to an RFE.

When I check the case status online, I get the following:

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On April 3, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

Is it standard for them to say "You will receive a written decision on this case."?

What does that mean exactly, the interview appointment letter?

Thanks all.

I think I've seen others post the same thing, and from what I gather, yes you are correct. It just means, they got what you sent them and are continuing to process your case.

The written decision is just the next step, so the interview letter in your case.

I am sure someone who has been through it will respond.

Good Luck

Thank you, everyone, for your responses. Glad to know we're past that small bump in the road!

One more question -

Does this also mean that they have found my response acceptable and I should not expect any further RFE's?

we received a similar email about a six weeks ago after we sent in our RFE and one week after this email the case was touched and no further evidence requests were sent to us - fingers crossed i think when your case is touched after the date they receive your further evididence it means that they are fine with your response and you will not receive another RFE.

Jenn,

They got our RFE this week too and we have the exact same message, which I am assuming is standard!

However I guess it is also possible we may get transferred to CSC, we sent a joint filed tax return and this is viewed as good evidence for the relationship - so we have everything crossed for a CSC transfer!
