Hubby paid $35 for transfer of vaccination info, no medical necessary (in Fresno). He needed some vaccinations shots so we got them from a govt community health center (too expensive at the civil surgeon).

Only solution is to note all the civil surgeons in your area off the USCIS website, and call every single one, then go with the cheapest! That's what we did.

Yah most civil surgeons are rip offs, but we are helpless. If there are few docs in the area or all are expensive, not much can be done but pay up. :crying:

If you are on AOS without previous K-1, K-3 visas, etc. where you would have already had to get a medical, you are looking at anywhere from 100-300 bucks. It's hard to find something cheaper than that. I paid 150 dollars. But definitely call around!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

We are in Temecula, when I called the CS I was told it was $85 for the exam, $150 for the lab work plus the cost of any jabs. I called later and asked if we could do all of the lab work through our Dr, they agreed.

So we paid $85 plus one test we missed and that was $28. Including our copay to see the DR we paid $123. for the medical and vaccination sheet.

We also sent it back with delivery confirmation via the USPS.

That way we know what you came on.

Thank you.

I came on a B2 visa, so I had to do the full medical here. It cost 247$. I brought my medical notebook in which all my vaccination and health stuffs have been put on record ever sine I was born. I avoided getting vaccines that way.

Shop around. In some areas there aren't many CS and you don't get much of a choice. Where I live I had to drive 1H30 to pay 100$ less than what the other guy wanted to charge.

If you are only transferring the data on the vaccination sheet, then they shouldn't charge you more than 35$.

Yes, if your original medical is more than a year old you will need the full medical.

The price sounds fair.

Your vaccination record has to be put on a separate and official sheet by the CS. Nothing more than that. There is the I-693 which is the general form that the CS completes and the I-693A which has the vaccinations record on it. The CS will ask you to show documents that you've had such and such vaccination, have you had chicken pox (varicella), etc so he can complete it (bring all documents you have that can prove you have had them).

As far as what you do with it. Well the CS office will send you and envelop that you are not to open and usually labeled INS/USCIS, etc. If you receive a RFE for it then send it. If not bring it with you to the interview.

And please do fill in your timeline. You are asking a lot of questions and it is helpful for people to know what you're on so they can help you better. just go there: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php?cfl=
