Where did you get that information from, curiously? The USCIS instructions for the I-134 in reference to the bank letter request this:

Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions where you have deposits, identifying the following details regarding your account:

1. Date account opened;

2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

3. Present balance.

Nowhere does USCIS request an account number.

The only place where USCIS does request an identifying number in reference to sponsor income is here:

D. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

I don't think you can blank out anything. They specifically ask you to mention Name, Address, Account Number and the deposits for the last 12 months in the bank letter.

You can, but I don't see the point. But then again, I no longer use the account I'd been using at the time of AOS, so...

I included a years worth of bank statements and didn't black anything out.

I included an online printout of my bank account balances and blacked out all but the last 4 digits of the account number. I also had the bank draft a letter just stating my balace for my checking and balance for my savings account as well as my total wealth. The letter didn't specify the account numbers. I'm not worried about it and neither was my lawyer.
