And unfortunately, the arrival delay on a flight from Europe may result in a passenger missing the LAST connexion from JFK to destination of the day--and having to take a bus/taxi over to La Guardia, which is what happened to me last May 31.

I'm most likely going thru Chicago. It's a lot cheaper than other airport, and it's only a 2 1/2 drive from home.

Hubby was delayed at POE at JFK. Almost three hours. Good thing I went to pick him up instead of having him transfer to Boston. He wouldn't have made a connection.

I flew NWA to Toronto via Detroit two summers ago. Despite my Detroit/Nashville flight being cancelled , they gave me a $5 phone card, a food voucher and got me on the next flight to Nashville (a few hours later). I didn' t have trouble at all.

I WAS, however, surprised to see the HUGE queue at YYZ just to get back home. I thought for sure I'd miss my flight.

Pras got in smoothly there on Lufthansa--other than forgetting to ask for the 90-day EAD.

(so whether or not DTW can/could issue it is now moot).

IAD takes the title if you happen to live in, or near Balto (metro-DC traffic is unchallenged for hellishness except by NYC).

I have flown into Miami many times but I am the USC. It was very nice and they have many lines open so lines for everyone are short.

They were nice to me in Miami as well, although they looked long at my passport and asked many questions, but I was wondering about going in through there on the K1 visa.

I picked Chris up at Chicago Ohare when he was coming for a visit. If you do have him pick you up please come in on the weekend. I picked him up on a Saturday and it was a piece of cake. Traffic wasn't bad. When I had to take him back it was during the week and It was horrible. I wanted to pull off the side of the road and cry. lol

Since that time we fly American from Ohare to Indy. It's about $120 for round trip and I think the last time I checked for one way it was about $70.00.
