Hello Everyone,

The checklist was received and entered into the system. Will keep you informed as to how it goes.

I have not received the DS-230 mailing from the NVC, it was generated on 27 August.

One question, how do you get this information added to your posts?

CR-1

I-130

02/05/07 - I-130 sent to NSC.

04/30/07 - NOA1 via snail mail.

05/03/07 - NOA2

07/02/07 - Received NOA2 via snail mail.

NVC

05/10/07 - NVC receives petition, case # assigned.

05/28/07 - Form DS-3032 (choice of agent) & AOS bill generated.

05/30/07 - E-mailed choice of agent & mailed AOS bill (as per shortcuts).

06/04/07 - NVC e-mails back acknowledging receipt of DS-3032 & enters AOS bill payment in system.

Update:

DS-230 coversheet was received today. The document was generated on Aug 27 and delivered on September 13. Now the question is, after already sending the requested DS-230 with the RFE checklist/coversheet, should another DS-230 be sent with this coversheet? I am inclined to wait at least until next Tuesday. Any thoughts?

You'll have to ask NVC about this. This is uncharted territory, but we would like to know how exactly this problem plays itself out.

Is the cover sheet for DS-230 similiar to the one for I-864? If sopmebody has a copy of it, please could you post it without their personal information.

What you are probably referring about is the checklist sent after your I864 has been approved. Am I correct? It does look like the I-864 barcode coversheet. Is it ATTN DR to Portsmouth, NH? If so, you can send in your DS230 plus needed docs, attach that barcode coversheet with it. They'll accept it just as the same.

I think you would be wise to wait. It hasn't been long since you sent that first copy and the Checklist requested the DS-230, so you are already on track. It might just confuse things if you send in 2 x DS-230

One is enough. I don't recommend sending two. The DS-230 sent in with the checkilist will be enough. Either channel used will find it's way to your case file. As long as the case number is on the DS-230 and either coversheet, you will be fine.

I got the same letter from NVC and I did send it with the cover letter of missing documents that sent me. I spoke with an NVC operator 2 days ago and she told me that my DS-230 was received and that they are processing the documents right now. If everything is fine, the package it’s going directly to US Embassy, in Managua Nicaragua.

Hello Everyone,

I called the NVC operator:

1. Confirmed do not need to resend the DS230.

2. Confirmed sending the DS-230 in response to the RFE for the DS230 is ok.

3. DS-230 was entered into the system on 13 Sept. Case complete on 19 September.

Questions:

A. How long does it generally take from case completion to its delivered to the embassy?

B. Does the automated NVC message change to "case forwarded to embassy"

C. Does the petitioner (US citizen) receive any notification in the normal post or email?

D. Anyone recently go through this i-130 CR1 interview process in Taiwan?

Thanks for all of your help, suggestions and comments. It is most appreciated. We could not have done it without all the helpful people and information available at Visajourney.

Regards,

Doug

Congrats! It's as most of us had already suggested. It's good to have another person add to the confirmation list.

Questions:

A. How long does it generally take from case completion to its delivered to the embassy?

It depends but in my case it took about a week.

B. Does the automated NVC message change to "case forwarded to embassy"

Yes. I initially had the case complete and now wait 8 weeks etc. A week later I checked again and it changed to the case forwarded to embassy on MM/DD/YYYY. Please contact them for further questions (aka now you can stop calling and leave us alone! LOL)

C. Does the petitioner (US citizen) receive any notification in the normal post or email?

Yes. The NVC sends out a letter stating that the case was forwarded with some other suggestions of bringing extra financial support evidence to the spouse's interview (makes sense since some of the financial info sent during the NVC stage can get stale if the interview date gets pushed out).

D. Anyone recently go through this i-130 CR1 interview process in Taiwan?

Thanks for all of your help, suggestions and comments. It is most appreciated. We could not have done it without all the helpful people and information available at Visajourney.

Sorry. Oz for me. I agree with the helpfulness of folks here. Without them, I would have been lost and even more anxious. Knowing what to expect in most of the situations helped keep me sane! Nothing worse than being in the dark and just waiting (ala USCIS I-130 petition stage where nothing happens for months).

Good Luck!
