i have a question about the papers i had to send my man for his interview. I sent him copies of all my papers and the copies that i sent to uscis at the beginning of this process. He is being insistant that i need to send certified papers. All these papers are either copies of the certified or originals. And i told him uscis never had any issues with the papers i sent them which were all copies. So i just sent him what i sent them...

We just got into an argument for the first time ever, and i'm just broken up that he don't think i got his point. I feel like he didn't get mine. And we are going back and forth on this issue. will someone please give me some advice on this. :(:crying:

He may be feeling the stress and worried about how to handle the interview. He may also be getting information from friends- so many men in Morocco seem to be "experts" on the visa process yet they are responsible for a lot of misinformation.

The CO will not ask him for copies of the papers you sent into USCIS. The consulate has copies of all those sitting in front of them for the interview. Sending them your SO is a good way for him to see eactly what the consulate has infront of them- details of information etc.

Ive been on VJ for over one year and I have not seen one single case of the consualte asking for the USC papers- certified or not.

8 April 2009 Biometric notice arrived by mail

24 April 2009 Biometrics scheduled

26 April 2009 Touched

...once again waiting

Ditto. The consulate didnt ask for certified anything from my husband. In fact, she didnt even look at all the paperwork I prepared, just the photos.

And as MBP mentioned, alot of this misinformation is being tossed between the guys and they get their minds set on something totally out of left field. My husband was CONVINCED that we HAD to get married in Morocco in order for him to come to the US. He was also convinced he needed to produce a certified certificate of celibacy to the consulate, on and on and on. They get all kinds of ideas from this game of 'telephone'. To this day, I still have to show my husband proof from other people's cases on VJ when we run into problems on our own. :)

I agree that they mainly look at the photos. I am convinced that they look for clues in the way you look together as a couple, your SO's eyes and smile, how happy you look together. It is the quality of the photos that counts, not just the quantity, although I would say that you need more than a few to prove your case. I believe that everything can be faked. they are trained to spot that. I believe that facial expressions are harder to fake consistently. I think they are trained to look for something in your SO's look that proves that he wants to spend the rest of his life with you. I am sure that they make mistakes in making wrong judgements about couples, but the burden of proof is on us.
