Well, I got an RFE for AOS also, it came in the mail a few days ago. I also need a joint-sponsor, so what I did was... my husband filed a I-864 again, as he did the first time. Now my father in law is gonna be my joint-sponsor, and him and his wife have their income on the same W2's. Now my dad in law filed a I-864, but checked in Part 1, question 1 D... saying, I'm the only joint sponor. When you go down to part 5, question 24 a... my current annual household income, I put only, what was on his paycheck. If that is enought to get over the 125% poverty line for your household, that's great, but if not, put your moms income in 24 b... that together makes the sum that is on their W2's which you put in 24 c. If you do that though, and put your moms income in the I-864, you'll have them to fill out I-864A, which is a contract between both of them.

I hope that was somekind of help for you... good luck

Oh, btw, why did they only give you 2 weeks... I got 87 days to send them back the papers... that's what my RFE said.

They can't have a joint W2. I take it you mean they have a joint 1040 form. That's fine - you can do it the way Sandy Cheecks suggested, or you can have them each fill out a separate I-846A (since they're both your household members), and attach a copy of their joint 1040 forms to each I-864A, along with W2's.

The point is, if the taxes are joint, individual income should be calculated based on a W2.
