I came back to the US yesterday and since i got approved while i was in italy i had to use my AP to get back. The immigration line was so long i had to stand there for 50 minutes with dogs around sniffin me and my bags( this was ATL POE)!!The officer told me to go downstairs to a secondary inspection. I went downstairs and there was a older immigration officer and a young guy. I was the only one there!!!The older man welcomed me in italian and he asked laughing "oh you married an american??Is he a good guy?Does he treat you right?" I was like "yeah" then he said "the next time you get married, make sure you marry an italian guy,its less paperwork, less trouble" ... then the young officer typed in the computer my name and he started ask me "whats ur mom and dad first name?" "is this your first time using AP?" then he said "you been here in the us for a long time..." I was like " No, i came in july and i apply for AOS in Sept" but he wouldnt listen and kept shaking his head "You been here for too long..." then the old guy asked him "how long she been here?" and he said " For years..." and i was like WHAAATT???? Then they looked at each other and start laughin, he wrote down some paperwork, stamped my AP and handed back my passport....

They scared the hell out of me!!!!!!!

The good news is that i came back home and there was my greencard waiting for me :luv:

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Congratulations.

I had a similiar experience as I went to Australia 2 days after my AOS interview. The interviewer stamped my passport and said I was good to travel on the stamp until my greencard arrived. When entered the USA again (2.5weeks later) the pulled me out of the line and sent me to the seperate room, I think it was because there computer was telling them that the card had been issued and they were wondering why I didn't have it on me.... after I explained that it was probably waiting for me at home they let me through :D

Yep they took my AP when they stamped my passport.

how come they didnt take your AP form from you at the AOS interview ? I thought they did that?

My interview is may 17 and everyone says they take the ap.... i want to travel june 2

Cause at the time of the interview they gave me only a "verbal" approval and they didnt stamp my passport. Thats why they didnt take my AP. It depends on the office, some give you the stamp some doesnt. Dont worry if they dont stamp your passport you can use your AP

Congratulations!!

We had the same experience with our AOS, they didn't take back the AP since it was just a verbal interview we were approved, no I551 stamp on the passport, They were looking for some documents we had provided that was not on our file at interview time. A few weeks later after we got the official AOS approval and you will receive the green card, we made an infopass appointment and went to get the stapm at the uscis office.

But never received WELCOME LETTER, i think it's office dependent. got the GREEN CARD. even though it's not green color
