Just want to say that I really hope Canada Post brings my packet 3 soon! It was mailed on August 29th. I know with the long weekend it feels even longer... but please oh please oh please let it come tomorrow!!!

Has anyone used the Dr in Calgary and had to have their results couriered (sp?) ? The appt is Sept 7th and I am wondering if it's a week to get the results in our hand (we're in Sask.) I want to give the earliest date possible for the Vancouver interview... once we get this packet 3!

Come on Canada Post, we're ready!

I would think you can give the Dr. a pre-paid Purolator or Xpress post.

The packet 3 may take a bit longer since they send it via your slowly friendly Canada Post Lettermail

It took a week for that dr to get the results together for me to pick up. so maybe 1.5 weeks to get the results to you. I don't know if you can get a prepaid envelope that's big enough for the xray

I'm sure the doctor's office has their own preferred company for sending out medicals. I'd just pay them the extra to use who they use.

oh yeah, I meant to say that Hummingbird will courier the results to you for $20 or 25. that can be paid with anything-interac, credit card-doesn't have to be cash

Thanks. yes, I knew they couriered it to us for $20, just curious to when we might have it in hand. So with maybe 1.5 weeks.... then I may request an interview for anytime after Sept 15th. Do you think this a wise idea? would that be cutting it too close?

Maybe we're being too optimistic to receive pack 3 this week. One can always hope I guess.

your medical appt. is the 7th? the 15th is only a week and a day-I'd guess too quickly to get your results even if everything goes smoothly. I seem to remember reading several horror stories about the dr in Calgary taking forever to get some peoples results together. I didn't know that you could request interview dates in Vancouver.

Does the doctor offer "premium" service for an extra charge to get your medical sooner? Might be worth it to ask about that.

One more thing I though of. Are you flying to Calgary for the medical or driving? Maybe you can compare the prices of flights from SK to Vancouver and SK to Calgary. The doctor in Vancouver does same day results, so maybe you could fly to Vancouver for the medical instead if you're flying and the costs are comparable.

Yup! There's a line that you fill out for requested dates. The consulate isn't that busy with K interviews. They only do 4 K interviews a day but the day I went there were only 3 of us. Stacey33 got her interview 9 days after sending in P3 because they had a slot open.

Packet 3 is here! Wa-hoo!!!

We will be driving to Calgary for the medical We have family in Medicine Hat so we will go Thursday night, sleep in Medicine Hat, then continue on to Calgary for the appt. We also have family in Calgary so it will cost us fuel and some meals. Not too bad. We were thinking of going to Vancouver the day ahead of the interview to do the medical there since we have to fly there anyway. But decided to go with Calgary, just to make sure we have the medical in hand... As for the trip to Vancouver we plan to drive to Calgary and then fly from there. This is a normal thing for us since we do this when we've flown back to Calif to visit my family. It is much cheaper than flying out of SK and having to change planes. It looks like Westjet was having seat sales recently so hopefully that will happen again. Maybe I will call the Dr in Calgary to see if I can get a timeframe for the results. oh we are getting so close!!!!
