there's a bunch of people out there who regreted for hiring a lawyer, they even make it worst by slowing the process too much delays etc... most of us didnt hire one but just asking somebody's help from a certain person or from this furom itself... but its always up to you... good luck on your journey!!!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to ask if there is a way to speed things up with regards to getting a K-1 or K-3 visa approved? Will a lawyer help? How will the lawyer speed things or expedite the visa ASAP?

Thanks thanks! :D

try to search this Phils Regional Discussion with the word EXPEDITE.

You will see a lof of threads with regards to this issue. This has been discussed a lot of times.

regards :)

Hi! In our experience, hiring a lawyer didn't speed the process for us (for K1). We still waited for about 7 months (Jan to Aug) until the date of my interview. We hired a lawyer just to ensure we are doing all the process correctly so as to avoid returned documents which might delay the process.

If you know the director of USCIS or someone high in the department of homeland security, that will help a lot.

If you know someone like the President of the United States or the U.S. Secretary of state, that will help immensely as well.

If you know a Congressman/Senator who is willing to bypass normal protocols and prcedure for you, that will help too!

Best of luck!

Having a lawyer will not speed it up at all. I am grateful I routed away from it and decided to do it on my own.

However, on the K3 part, you can use James' NVC Shortcut, as your case will have to go through from USCIS, then to NVC, then to USEM. Please feel free to click the link on my signature. As for my personal experience, it will save you at least a month from actual norm. You can also go to IR1/ CR1 and NVC Forums to get more help and information on the K3 process.

And if this Congressperson or Senator happens to also be a lawyer then using THIS lawyer would help

YMMV

i think if there was an expedite for everyone, i think we'd all use it. then we would all be expedited and we'd all be back where we started.

unless your case is abnormal or complicated by visa overstays, criminal history, needed waivers etc i think on here its been shown that lawyers actually slow down the process. you give hte papers to them, they send it in. any RFEs they get first, then let you know etc etc. they give out incorrect info, send in the wrong papers, tell clients the wait is onyl 2 to 2 months etc etc etc.

there are very good immigraton attorneys and there are ones who dont know #######. if you have a normal petition, you can certainly do it yourself faster, save a thousand dollars and lose alot of headache. the guides on here and the posters have a great amount of knowledge. its not a hard process to under take but there is no real shortcut.

the people that get expedite get their petition processed faster but then they are separated longer from their wife due to military deployment, often for 2 years etc. they might shortcut the k1 process, but they dont shortcut the time apart form their loved one.

The quick and dirty answer is... Hell Nahn!!! The only way that I've seen cases speed through the process is if your child is going to age-out or if you are in the military.

Cheers!!!

If you pay alot of money they will expedite your petition...but, it must be more than 10,000 US dollars??? Maybe..you will be ahead of all of the rest...and feel guilty in conscience. Make the right decision always.....
