Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'm feeling a little better after reading your input, but I keep looking at that other thread where people are stating they have friends who admitted to marijuana use 10 years ago who still got denied, and that seems to be making things worse again.

I would assume that since the doc himself told me to check off "no" that I am in the clear, but it's hard to say whether he has his own form where he fills out exactly what I said in the medical, etc etc.

I have called the doc though, and left a voice message requesting to purchase a copy of my medical results. Hopefully it isn't too late to get a copy, since my medical was over a month ago now.

Thanks again for all your replies/re-assurances  I'll let you know what the medical says if/when I do get a copy of it.

Honesty is the best policy!

AMEN brother - advising someone to lie in their application and all related issues is against VJ TOS.

Yes, we get your point. Bolding it is unnecessary and if you are implying that I'm advising someone to lie on their application then please report me to VJ.

dear treble,

It's not about you or getting "my point" through. It's about complying with TOS. And advising to lie through the immigration is against the Terms of Service, bold or no bold.

Peace, L.

Again. you are implying that I told her to lie. Please show me where I said that. If you have a problem with what I said, report me. The holier than thou immigration attitude is something I'm not particularly fond of and def. not something I see on this Canadian portion of the board.

Telling someone that they should comply with TOS, and to do so, they should be recounting every single drug/alcohol experience they have ever had (which is basically what you are saying) is so extreme. Honesty is honesty. But like I said, and still what I stand by, I really doubt that withholding that first taste of alcohol at 15 to the doctor and TOS is going to harm not only your chance of getting your VISA, but also your status in life as an honorable and honest person.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

treble,

I see your point and no, I am not implying a thing: I say what I say, no need to write/read between the lines with me; and it was not about you or calling you bad bad bad person my dear friend . I did not and will engage in personal attacks, it is not my style. I like you, as I like all my Canadian VJ'ers. And I am not holier than anyone else (I am a bit more fabulous though ;) )

Peace, L.

There's a difference between flat out lying and not disclosing information. It would be tough call...something to consult an attorney with.
