My fiancee requested her militsia report soon after we received the NOA2. It took some time and she received it on the 27th of March. The report was simple since she has lived in the same city her entire life.

In looking at the report it was discovered they only reported on her Maiden name. The report did not include her former married name which she changed from after her divorce. Fortunately, since we started working on this right away, there was time to contact the militsia about the error. They have promised to correct it and she will have a new report on the 13th. Still plenty of time before the interview. Lesson learned it pays to start early.

I have a quetsion for you. My husband went to the local police station , they told him they don't grant requests like that. Usually embassies send them the request. Could you ask your fianee to explain to me what exactly she said when she requested this stupied report and where did she go, or what form she had to fill out. City he is from is small and it seems that their police officers are not as familiar with the procedure as say Moscow Departments.

( I speak Russian as well if she wants to email in Russian) - PLEASE HELP.

Thank you for sooo much.

Eva.

Your fiance's answer sounds to me like the "typical I do not want to be bothered with your request answer" I will mail my fiancee and ask her. I will let her know she can write and answer how she made the request in Russian.

If he travels to the regional police station, they should be able to grant his request. The small station probably has no idea what he's talking about, or just doesn't want to be bothered. If he goes to the larger place, they'll probably know exactly what he's talking about and be more inclined to help.

Have him phone the regional or district office, then maybe they will send it to the local office.
