Hello! I am new to this site and new to the immigration process! I married my husband in Turkey in July, returned to U.S. in early August and sent my I-130 to TSC on August 7th. I have not heard anything from them and do not see their processing dates for I-130 listed on the website. Are they forwarding their I-130s? And do you know where they are transfering them to? Also--is it possible for my husband to get a tourist visa while we wait for the process to be completed? Please, any advice is welcomed! So stressed out!

Because of the price raise on July 30, the USCIS was flooded with petitions at end of July.

Normally you get your acknowledgment that they received your petition withing 2 weeks, but due to the large number of petitions from end of July, they are running behind.

USCIS has stated that even though the entry of all these forms into the computer may be slow, they will still process them all the same as before time wise.

So, even though you have not heard from them, it is not a problem.

You can expect your petition to take about 110 days to get through the USCIS portion of the process.

So, as long as you know they received it (maybe they cashed the check already?) then it is just wait with all the rest of us.

Did they cash your check?

If they cashed your check, and you wish to file the K3 documentation, it is possible to get the I-130 number off the back of your check.

The info will help other help you, and it will give you an idea on when you can expect a response from USCIS based on the average time of other members of this site.

You will receive a receipt from VSC or CSC where your petition will be forwarded for adjudication. The other service centers don't adjudicate I130s anymore. They are behind in receipting (as mentioned earlier, the flood of fee increase-beating petitions before July 30). See here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

Don't worry. You did the right thing. Your I-130 petition will most likely be forwarded to CSC and you will receive an NOA1 from them. I sent my petitions to TSC on 7/27 and just received my NOA1 for the I-130 on 9/1 from CSC. You should be getting yours soon.

Peace,

CG

Thank you for sharing your similar experience! I hope I get my NOA soon. You were smart to send both your I-130 and 129f together--man, I should have done this too!

Hi,

I submitted my I-130 on Aug 16, they rec'd Aug 17. I did not send my I-129F concurrently. I have neither received NOA1 nor have they cashed my check. I have seen people suggest that it is no longer necessary to wait for NOA1; however, when I called the USCIS helpline they still recommended that I wait for it. Given that processing times are 30-90 days, it would seem that if it's possible to submit the I-129F without waiting for the NOA1 to clear would potentially save a lot of time.

I'm hoping that someone can suggest what to send them to prove that the I-130 was filed before I get my NOA1 or the check is cashed. I do have the green return receipt and the USPS tracking as proof of delivery.

Has anyone actually actually received an NOA1 for BOTH the I-130 AND the I-129F after having submitted them concurrently?

Has anyone submitted the I-129F AFTER the I-130 but BEFORE NOA1 or check clearing?

ColumbianGringo (and others who filed concurrently) please do post an update as to what ends up happening with your concurrent submission.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,

I just received my NOA1 for my I-129F today. It took over a month for me to get either one, so I would not worry that you have not received yours yet. I would hesitate to recommend that you send your I-129F without some kind of proof. I don't know that a post office return receipt would be enough.

You might want to call USCIS and after listening to the clueless phone rep for a few minutes, ask to speak to an officer. They can possibly offer you better advice.

I posted a new topic that addresses my joint submission.

We are all in for a long wait. Take it in stride and don't stress. Time flies and your wife will be here before you know it.

Good luck,

CG

I just realized that I only sent one copy of the G25a for both myself and my husband--I didn't know we had to have 4 copies of the same paper. What to do? I am so upset with myself! Some times I feel like just giving up. I waited for my husband to get out of the military for a year before we got married, now I have to wait a year for this green card. I waited so long for the right person and now I can't even be with them! At least not in my own country! :help:

You wait to see if you get an RFE. I doubt you will but get the correct forms ready to send if needed.
