Green Card or EAD?

We applied for the green card and work authorization at the same time. Does anyone know which one gets processed faster? Should we get the green card first or the authorization for employment? Or, do they come together?

It all depends, some people get the EAD first, and some get the green card first. If you get the green card before the EAD then the EAD is not needed as the green card allows for working and travel.

I'm all about the EAD. My husband has been working for weeks while his GC applications sits in the corner of someone's desk collecting dust (not even in the CSC) but in the NBC.

If you get the GC first then you wasted some money (taking risk)....

If not then you're doing yourself a favor. IMHO, it's worth the money...

My EAD came 2 weeks before my interview. My AOS was recently approved (see my timeline). I think it's just a month difference or less.

It depends 1/ on your local office, 2/whether you're transfered to CSC or not and 3/if you are or not stuck into FBI namecheck.

Normally EAD is ajudicated within 90 days , it suppose to be released before the AOS. But in my case i got my EAD card on the day my AOS was approved which was less that 90 days from application. Its looks like my EAD is useless.

My wife's EAD took 90 days, and the green card took 8 months. Just depends....

My EAD was ordered on Sept. 1st, 78 days after filing it. It was worth it considering I have no clue when my GC interview will be. At least now I can work.
