I am a member since last 2 months. I am reading some thread but his is the first time I post mine :)

I want to ask if they will deny me to have my visa if I undergone a major operation? I am just wondering. I hope someone help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Nov. 28, 07 - Arrived in US with my asawa

Dec. 8. 07 - Received my SSC through mail

Jan. 19, 08 - Received welcome notice from USCIS 3x

Jan. 25, 08 - Got my GC

Sept. 4, 08 - Jody, our baby arrived

 

~Removal of condition Time line~

Aug. 5, 09 - Reminder letter from USCIS regarding my immigration status received

Sept. 8, 2009 - Sent I-751

Sept. 11, 2009 - Mail delivered to VT

Sept. 18, 2009 - NOA1 & extension letter DATED 09/14/09

Sept. 25, 2009 - Biometrics appointment letter received

Oct. 14, 2009 - Early biometrics

Oct. 15, 2009 - Touched

Oct. 23, 2009 - Scheduled biometrics

Dec. 31, 2009 - Approval letter received dated 12/24/09

Jan. 08, 2010 - Card production ordered

Jan. 19, 2010 - GC received

The only medical reasons that visas are denied for for serious communicable diseases, mental health problems that have lead you to hurt yourself or others when your doctor has not said you're all better yet, and illegal drug use. You don't say what type of major surgery, but I can't imagine it being related to any of those things. As your spouse agrees to be financially responsible for you, they're not looking out for people who might go into hospital and rack up bills - they're looking out for people who are a danger to themselves or others.

US Immigration Timeline

24 Feb 2007 - Sent I-130 to London USCIS office (I'm the petitioner)

25 May 2007 - NOA2

2 June 2007 - Received Packet 3

12 Oct 2007 - Sent Packet 3 back by special delivery

5 Nov 2007 - Interview in London - Approved without any hitches!

7 Nov 2007 - Visa and MBE arrived by SMS! :)

30 Jan 2008 - Fly to Michigan!! :)

*Note: Any delays in our case are only due to us taking things slowly

Its an ovarian cyst and it happened 3 years ago. I dont use drug ever and dont have plan. Mental problems? I dont think so. I am in a good shape I guess. Communicable diseases like TB, STD"S etc. I dont have either. :) Well, I guess Im safe. Thanks for the response. Have a great day. :)

No problem. :)

You definitely won't have a problem with the medical exam over surgery for a cyst. On another note, sometimes getting your vaccinations ahead of the exam can be cheaper, so that's something to look into.

You definitely won't have a problem with the medical exam over surgery for a cyst. On another note, sometimes getting your vaccinations ahead of the exam can be cheaper, so that's something to look into.

Yes. I heard about that. Its more cheaper here in Manila than to do the shots in US. Thanks a lot. :)
