Smart phone, roaming in USA

I use a Smart Sim card in the US from a US phone that is unlocked. I bought the Sim Card in Cebu before I left and had the international roaming activated at that time. As long as the phone can pick up a GSM signal, then you will be fine. Her family doesn't have to load her from the Philippines either. You can load at http://www.aryty.com or at http://www.pldtonline.com . As dj1206 mentioned, she will pay 20 peso's per text when sending while roaming and all she'll be able to do is text, no calls. You can always check the balance on the Smart card by registering at http://www.smart.com.ph/Buddy .

Hope this helps

At 20 pesos per text, the phone bill could look like mine when Claudeth first arrive.....2k the first month
