Smart phone, roaming in USA

I use a Smart Sim card in the US from a US phone that is unlocked. I bought the Sim Card in Cebu before I left and had the international roaming activated at that time. As long as the phone can pick up a GSM signal, then you will be fine. Her family doesn't have to load her from the Philippines either. You can load at http://www.aryty.com or at http://www.pldtonline.com . As dj1206 mentioned, she will pay 20 peso's per text when sending while roaming and all she'll be able to do is text, no calls.
