It varied. When we first started talking it was several hours per day. The last year after we filed, anywhere from 5-20 minutes a day just to check in. C. got a new job that kept him very busy. Wasn't a big deal but I'm glad that's done now.

We used to talk for hours on end when we first started talking. Now its more like 2 phone calls per day 10-20 minutes each just to check in and let each other know we're thinking of the other. The marathon msn chats have ceased. I guess we are out of our honeymoon phase.

Let's have happy answers here. Not your psycho babble!

Don't start a thread here seeking out comments that match your own situation and try to paint me as the bad guy.

Go post on any neutral location and ask if your situation is psycho or if my outlook is psycho and base it off that. I'm done with this thread.

This is the "off line thread". Which is neutral.

My point is extensive daily contact doesn't ensure or reinforce a LDR.

I'm really not trying to be combative, but I have to point out that no one said extensive contact ensures anything. I accept there are those who spend lots more time on the phone together than we do, and there are those who spend less than we do....every couple has their 'comfort zone' of time, and that's what's good for them. Nothing ensures anything.

Exactly. No one's talking about the validity of your relationship, Jaseball. Honest.

This was to be a " HAPPY TOPIC" but someone had to ruin it.

Where did someone try to ruin it?

We spoke several times a day via the phone, sometimes for 2 hours or more. Depending on what hours we were working, and the time difference ofcourse!, weekends we usually spoke for longer. We did email eachother, normally to send pics ! We tried to meet up as often as possible, I think in all between us, we made about a dozen trips and spent up to 4 weeks together at a time:)

Before we were engaged, about 4 hours per week. Now that we are engaged, about an hour or two per week. How long does it take to say "I love and miss you" and share our weekly news anyway? We don't need to "interview" each other any more!

The time we were spending together wasn't just "the camera is on and we are connected" time. We did lots of things together. Since we had mics we talked endlessly. I sang to her, we played online games and her family would come in to join the conversation. After 3 years of that I can say we knew each other better than most people with "regular" relationships had. It forced us to concentrate on getting to know each other rather than the other things that local relationships would give. All in all I feel that it was a benefit to our relationship.

We run an online business together so we are on skype anywhere from 9-13 hours everyday.. Although it doesn't mean we are always on there. We just leave it on all day. I take care of the kids, cook, clean, visit friends, work, whatever I have to do and then come back pick up the headphones and there he is.
