ITIN vs SSN in DS230

situation and question:

My husband (petitioner&agen in USt) received instrcutions for me to fill-up the DS230 form. In Part II item#33a (question: Have you ever applied for a SSN?) and 33b of that form requires information about SSN number. Recently, my husband receive a letter from IRS indicating my ITIN w/c he filed for, for his tax purposes.

my question is: Is that ITIN same as SSN? I dont have SSN yet. What should i asnwer?

No the other number is not the same as a SSN. If you have not gotten an official SSN card from the government then you have no SSN and should answer N/A.

yup i don't have SSN number yet. My husband is in the US and im here in the Philippines. So for now i shoul answer no and allow SSA to issue me SSN right? I'l be answering yes to 33a 2nd YES checkbox and to 33b..

You are on the right track!
