Hi,

I just received DS-230 form, It has form of 169

First thing it says Passports:

"If you are married, your passport should be amended to reflect your marriage"

But My wife's Passport have her father name instead on me. Can send the recent passport copy or first fix the passport then send the copy to NVC.

The name is not what is important unless you have changed names in the marriage process. What is important is that the passport have a entry showing the marriage or that your wifes naem is amended to reflect the marriage and name change..

As-if I am going to send DS-230 form

1) Do I have to first fix passport have passport reflect our marriage then send copy of Passport with DS-230?

2) right now passport have my wife father name but does not have my name anywhere on the passaport can i still send that photo copy with DS-230?

3) Because when i read NVC

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3185.html. It just asking for biographic for there are no mention that passport should be update and reflect your marriage

So final question is Can I send biographic page of passport with DS-230 which has not been updated to reflect our marriage?

Does your wife's passport have an area on the passport biographic page that indicates what her marital status is, is that what you are talking about?

She isn't required to change her name, so I'm thinking there must be another field on the passport that says 'married' ?

Sorry for confusion

Passport does not have any field which indicate marital status. It has father name . I believe in our country's passport they take father's name field out and replace with Husband's field

What if my wife passport does not have any marital status field.

for ds-230 form ur wife should have a passport showing ur name as her husbans.if u will send the passport without ur name as her husband ,nvc will send the form back to u with objection.ur wife should get the pakistani id card showing ur name as her husband,this id card is necessary to get pakistani passport.then she should get the pakistani passport with ur name as her husband.

Thats the answer i am looking for. I believe you already went through this process But this stupid process going take almost months in Pakistan.

I already received my DS-230 at my home I was about to send DS-230 in the mail but Packet 3 slip form 169 first line says Passport should reflect your marriage. I thought I should biographic page now when I got to interview I will show them updated passport

Do you guys knows that can I write a letter with DS-230 that I can show my wife passport at interview?

i dont think asif that its possible.u have to send this passport copy with ds-230.and when ur case will be transfered to islamabad embassy and when ur wife will get packet 3.5,u will again need ur passport copy at that time.i am in ir1 process and just got the interview date.i think ur wife needs to rush to the passport office.

Do you know that how urgent CNIC national Id Card can be update? I am not sure about the process because I am not in Pakistan.

asif i think u can get NIC within 14 days if u will pay urgent fee.and u can get urgent passport in 7 days with 4000rs fee.lol mene 2months pehle banwaya hay islie yad hay mujy

Salaam Guys, I have a similar question. On my wife's passport only my first and middle name mention not my last name.. You think if that can cause any red flags?.

Asmo, is passport have your name anyware? but if you changed your wife name after marriage then yes you definatly need to change the passport. If not then its allright.

Because I call NVC today they told me that if my wife kept her median name then we do not have to change the passport if we change the name yes we need to change the name

Asif, I told my wife not to change her name after marriage just to avoid all this hassle. Regarding passport she has put my name as her husband. Hows ur Cr1 process going.. I m just waiting for my bill iv fees..(first baby step by nvc) I was really hopping to get my K3 approved first..
