I do not have a perfect 2X2 photo of my girlfriend from Mexico but I do have her passport printed on a regular white sheet of paper. The background is the normal background on the Mexican Passport. It is not white and I cannot describe how the background looks. Can I use this photo?

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

I would not risk it, but that is only my opinion.

In the instructions for I-129F they clearly ask for a max. 30 days old passport-style color photograph with a white background, glossy, un-retouched and not mounted. Might look weird if you send in a copy of your girlfriends passport pic instead of a real photo. Have her get one taken and mail it to you, should not take to long and is definitively better than receiving a RFE.

Let her send you correct passport photos. It would save you a lot of time and money in the long run than having RFE.

I am doing the same things for mexico. Keep in mind their passport size is smaller, but should not cause an issue. But like many have said it depends on who looks at your stuff and what kind of a mood they are in.

There is a reason for the photo specifications - follow them. They don't ask for the photo size of your choice - they tell you very clearly the exact dimensions and rules for the photos.

Agreed. Even th Department of State website has a whole page devoted to photo specifications. I've said it in another post... DoS and USCIS & Co. do not appreciate us not following instructions and... they do hold our lives in their hands, so don't risk it.
