Does anybody know if there is any difference in the process of renewing EAD that was issued at JFK than filing from scratch? Does the expiry date of the old EAD make any difference to the issuing of the new authorisation? I am just filing everything now but my work permit expires on 17th October. I am hoping to have a part time job starting next week through a friend and have declared the expiry of the EAD. Not sure really what to do given that it will expire around 1 month after I start the job...

You can not renew the Temp EAD that you got from JFK... it expires 90 days after entry.... you can apply for a 1 year EAD along with your application for AOS... it will take about 90 days+ to get your 1 year EAD and from when your temp EAD expires until you have your 1 year EAD in your hand you are not work authorized...
