Hello everyone...

My fiance wants to bring his home theatre system with him when he moves to the US. Has anyone else had to deal with shipping large items overseas from Nigeria? And if so, what kind of shipping did you use and what was the cost range? Any shipping companies you can recommend? He told me it weighs around 100lbs... I'm having a hard time finding any information. :help: Thanks!

I am not sure that the electrical wiring and the voltage are compatable, Nigeria uses 220 while the US uses 110. Here in the US we use 220 for Clothes Dryers. Also the plugs in Nigeria are not shaped the same as here in the US. If it were me I would save the money on shipping from Nigeria and by a new Home Theatre System here in the US.

That is only my opinion

It will be a waste of time and money, the voltage I know is definately not the same. Will be no use.

Thanks everyone...

That's what I thought too, but he seems to have some kind of attachment to his stuff or something *laugh* The voltage thing should definitely convince him... sorry I didn't even think of that first! I wouldn't have taken the time to even look! He did say he'd sell his TV at least... :D
