When/where/how do we get the I-94 form?

Does anyone know if EADs are issued at the border by Buffalo?

Are you talking about one when you activate your visa?

Or are you talking about one for just going back and forth....they don't like to give them to us

The I-94 will be given to you and stapled into your passport when you activate your K-1 when you cross the border. It is really a piece of heavy paper/cardstock and will have the date written on it for the length of time you are admitted to the US - 90 days. It costs $6 or $7. Once you marry, you will apply to change your status from K-1 to Permanent Resident. You will need to submit an EAD application with the AOS to continue your permission to work. Keep your I-94 safe - you will need it for your AOS.

EADs are not issued at the border, but what some borders do is put a stamp in your passport (on the I-94??) that says you are authorized to work. The stamp is valid as long as the I-94. I have heard that they do this at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, so if it is essential that you get the Employment stamp you might want to add the extra hours to your trip and use them as your POE instead of Buffalo. Of course, you can always call up the Buffalo border and ask them if they do issue the stamp as well.

In answer to your question about the I-94:

When: When you cross the border from Canada into the US. Make sure you bring your Canadian passport and $6USD.

Where: Try the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, NY if they don't issue you one at the Peace Bridge in Buffalo. Lol...I got my I-94 at the Rainbow Bridge, even though I didn't ask for one (see my detailed timeline for more info about that).

How: Just ask a US immigration official and pay the fee. They'll give you one and staple it to your Canadian passport.

EADs: I don't know about that one, as I never got an EAD. But I'm sure someone at the border can issue you one.
