i130 approved 2 months ago, still waiting for i129F

Uscis cali center got my i130 in april 24th, so I filed the i129f right after. The i129f and i130 were transferred to the VCS in mid may, and the i130 got approved around mid June. The i129f is still pending, with my status being that it was transferred to another uscis office, and last updated May29th. Should I be worried? It thought these 2 cases are usually approved around the same time.

Should I persue the i130, or stay patient waiting for the i129f?

For most people the I-130 is the preferred mechanism rather than hassle with the AOS/EAD after K-3 admittance...

YMMV

and how long would it take until interview if I chose to go with the i130? I was told about 4 months, while the i129f is about 2 months

NFI as you do not indicate what country or consulate.... Your I-130 approval is 2 mos so should they not be neck and neck now based on what you were told?

whats NFI? and my case is being handled by a lawyer in California that only does k3 visas, Holme and Jolly I believe. I was told by them that the i130 and i129f is usually approved together.

Country is Ukraine.

Approved together? sometimes yes, sometimes no....

The difference is going to be NVC, as the I-130 can spend more time there than the I-129F for K-3. However, once you are clear of the NVC routine the interviews in Kyiv are quick....

Has NVC contacted you regarding the I-130 processing?

YMMV

my lawyer has the i130 package, which we are just holding right now. I was just told that it would cost $380+70 and about 4-6 months for the cr-1 process. I think I'll wait another month or so and see what happens with the i129f

While the K-3 is $100 for the visa, in order to adjust status to perm resident it will be $1010... Pick your poison...

YMMV
