Ok, his interview was April 25 and he was told by the embassy it would take about 3 months to finish the security check.....lol

I have been calling DOS weekly and emailing the embassy monthly. All I have ever gotten is the dreaded "pending" until last month when Ankakre responded and said it was on hold??????

Today I called DOS and they said it is still pending but it is showing as active. Does this mean they are finally working on it after it having been waiting for it's turn in line, or am I just building false hope on one word?

He is planning to travel to Sweden soon (within the next month) to visit his sisters and he would like to stop in Ankara, get his visa, go to sweden, and then straight here. But because his visa for sweden is only good for three months he cannot wait much longer.

Any ideas?

Just wanted to update with interesting info from DOS.

First the most helpful person I have found there is the foreign female (Indian I think). She has actually answered my questions and told me more than "it is still pending".

Yesterday she sent an email to the "black hole" asking if he could be cleared because it has been so long and maybe they are all finished or because it has been pending so long, as has been actively worked on for at least three weeks not just waiting in line, that if they have found nothing they could clear him.

My advice when u call try to get her, defenitely not the american male who will tell u nothing, and politely ask intelligent questions. She will provide more information than the other operators.

Or maybe this is all false hope and I am in for a let down

Hope it works out for you.

The way things are between Iran and the US I can see where Homeland Security would take a LONG and very careful look at your man.
