Hi everyone, i am just a little frustrated as to why lagos has suddenly become so slow. There are still some people whose case has been completed since september and still no interview. So now it's like 8 months just to get a darn interview and it seems to be getting slower and slower i can't seem to understand why  Talking to NVC doesn't help they just give their canned responses as to " it really depends on the embassy and their quota" then lagos says oh it's just that there are more applicants. Yet they process hundreds of visitors visas to get $100 per each application and everytime i ask people who have been to the embassy for k3 or CR-1 there are only usually about 6-10 of them in line for CR-1. I don't understand for k-1/k-3 it takes 3-4months to get an interview and for this we have to wait for all this #######. If any other lagos waiters have any insight to this pls let me know.

I just have to vent cos this waiting can drive a person crazy

It's good to vent! So sorry you're having such a hard time getting an interview. Hopefully soon. I remember when we started the K1 visa process--we weren't sure if my then fiance should return to Nigeria or try to extend his student visa in South Africa. Our lawyer told us to do everything in our power to stay in South Africa. Now from all these horror posts on Lagos--I'm glad we followed his advice.

Have there been any interviews scheduled recently? Can you go for a visit?

i am planning to go visit in a couple of months. i do dread the heart wrenching moments we have to go through at the airport when its time to leave :crying: . Occasionally, i might get a nice NVC operator that will tell me how long it really is taking to get an interview. It just doesn't make sense. Our last VJ member that went through case was completed i think in Aug 18th and their interview was set in dec for Jan. Now, four months later they still have september folks who haven't been scheduled.

I'm sorry your having a hard time with the Lagos embassy. I'm sure I'll be in your position very soon. Have you tried emailing the embassy?

This embassy is a nightmare, for lack of a better word. There is no rhyme or reason to anything they do. You can spend countless hours trying to make reason of it all......and you will come back right to the beginning still with no answers.

A friend of mine was approved about 2 weeks before me, but when our interviews at the embassy were scheduled I was scheduled almost 3 weeks ahead of her.....now explain that one!

Good luck working your way through the quagmire this embassy consistantly creates!
