Hi All,

How long is Police Clearnace Certificate valid ?

Depends upon which Regional Passport Office he/she's going to.

If it's Bangalore Passport office, I know it's just one day (if the passport has been issued in 1997 or later).

You apply today morning and you'll get it tomorrow afternoon.

If the passport has been issued prior to 1997, then it may take upto 2 weeks.

Also it is valid for at least 6 months for sure I know.

However I forgot to mention that, in B'lore they did ask for the US Visa interview letter. So it may not be possible to get the PCC from the B'lore RPO unless you have an visa interview letter in hand.

In Visakhapatnam it took only one day also.

I suggest you get it only after the NOA2. The more recent it is, the better.

My wife got her NOA2 for 129F & 130. Should she try and get the passport clearance now before she gets the interview letter? Also at the time of our marriage she got a police clearance certificate because I thought it was required for 130 submission. Would that certificate still be valid it is dated from May 17 07 but it was given on the maiden name.

No harm in getting another in one in the new name if it's not much of a trouble.
