:help: Im going back to Egypt in November, to spend our 2nd anniversary togeather. But my passport is still in my maiden name. And all my ID's have my new married name. Do I need to have my passport changed? Or is it still valid? Has anyone went back to egypt without changing there name on there passport? :help: Edited by Cheryl & Medo

You won't have to show any of your other ID so I think you'll be fine. Do you still have your old driver license with the paper attached that shows the change of name? If so, take that with you just in case.

If your GC has married name [normal]and passport maiden name it's a good idea to have your marriage certificate with you.

I haven't changed my name yet and won't until he is physically here. I had no problems at the airport and even asked not to pay for the visa to get into Egypt by showing my marriage certificate and that worked as well. I brought my passport and my license.

We changed Claudeth's just because it seemed easier to deal with for the passport matching names with the GC.

I believe that legally you are supposed to change your name on your passport to match your current name...as a US citizen you can probably get away with it, but then you probably need to have your airplane tickets in the same name...

If I were you I would change it...why take chances when visiting your habibi is so important?

I have taken my husbands name but never changed my passport. I always buy plane tickets to match my passport name. I have never been asked any questions. But of course I keep my drivers license and credit cards with my married name with me. And we always take a copy of our Nikkah with us when traveling just in case we need to stay in a hotel.
