Not saying that people haven't done that. But you are not telling me that a person is going to build her immigration case on the fact that she was married to an abusive spouse all the while having declared at the K1 interview that she wasn't. Get it? If she claims to have been married prior to entreign on the K1, she entered illegally and gotta go. If she claims that she wasn't married at all to her petitioner, then she's gotta go because as a K1 there's but one way to stay here: marry the petitioner after entering as a K1. It's a catch 22 for crying out loud.

Eejits do stupid things all the time... and she could be banking on the fact that it's harder to deport someone than to let them in the country in the first place. Who the freak knows...that's not even the point. The point is people jump all over someone yelling TROLL, TROLL, TROLL...when real life, and what people will do is pretty unfreakin' believable.

Who knows. The thing is, this guy isn't asking for advice, money, or sympathy.

Marriage fraud happens EVERYDAY. Just take this as it is, say "Thanks for the warning" and move on! Why Spend 8 pages of posts debating if it's true or not?? WHO CARES? You don't know this man, you never will. What's the problem. People SHOULD be aware of this possibility.

Exactly. And if there is actually a guy that was taken to court by an Ethiopian gal as he has us believe, trust me, there's much more to the story than we are asked to believe. If she just wanted to come here, she'd have disappeared on him after coming here. This elaborate yet absolutely dysfunctional scheme that she supposedly cooked up against him is bullshyte. I ran this story by Nani and she says that this is the most ridiculous nonsense she's ever heard. She said that if a just arrived Ethiopian w/o proper papers runs to the police, the person has reason to do so. Otherwise, if they just wanted a ticket in, they'd contact family or friends resident in the US upon arrival and take off to never be seen again.

If it wasn't so personal, I'd scan my Ethiopian marriage certificate into my computer and put it here for y'all to see. There's no way you wouldn't be able to see that it's a marriage certificate. It has it written on it in plain English. According to his story, she took the certificate to court. Here in the US. Trying to grab half his assets. If the court isn't going to look for some indication that what the gal has is an actual marriage certificate, his lawyer certainly would...

It would be one thing if this man were throwing out personal insults or flaming people - but he just posted some advice..it's good advice....The general theme is "BE CAREFUL OF WHO YOU MARRY" To most it's a no brainer.

Lets say his story is a big ####### tale, the fact is some people on VJ dont like that people come on here to take advantage of VJ members for sympathy and advice when infact it wasnt needed at all. so to some people it IS a big deal to discuss all of this, plus theres nothing wrong with people voicing their opinions even if it takes 8 pages.

There were people who were sympathetic and people who were not, and maybe some people were bored and felt the need to continue this thread, and some people who felt so strongly by their thoughts they kept it going as well.

Also I turns out she was just trying to get a divorce so she can self petition herself on grounds of abuse. So she gets to stay here free in our country and I get to keep my stuff.

Too sensational for media to pass up--so chances of hearing about it first time on VJ are rather slim.
