eh, I wouldn't be so quick to call him a troll.

He's had a really bad experience, and is hoping to maybe warn others about the possibilities that are out there. Someone else posted recently about someone who had married him just to get into the country as well.

moral of the story: make sure you know the person very well, and don't rush into things. A lot of the VJ members have known their SO for longer than a few months, so I'm sure most of us are entering (or have already entered into) a valid marriage.

The OP is a troll if you know the process well enough you can pick out at least 3 inconsistancys.

sister shon is correct ...the longer, you are on here..the more falacy are easier to recognize or at least your BS radar..

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The story doesn't smell right from a legal point of view.

Hello all!!

Yes he was right about someone just want to get marry for a green card... it had happened to me once. She married for 9 months, got her GC and took off to California. Then She was back in town after 3 to 4 months in CA. She also sued me for my assets when she ran out the money. But the case was dropped when I was in court. Then I filed for divorced in Feb 2005. Finally, I was divorced in 2006. But I don't think all people want to get married for GC. I just picked the wrong woman. you have to make a mistake to learn from that mistake. I just want to make sure for the next would be the true love.

I don't really disagree but I've been on VJ over 2 years now, and I still don't like to assume someone is a troll because they post a bad experience. With that being said, I know there are trolls who are people who have nothing better to do than to be idiots online. But there are also people who will get labeled a troll just because others have made stuff up in the past. It's a tricky thing sometimes.

i have seen a lot of "troll" posts. It seems like such a waste of time for someone to want to come on VJ for the sole purpose of conjuring a story for sympathy.

Bad experiences happen to both international marriages and good ol' fashioned american marriages. There are just as many cases where a purely american couple divorced for similar reasons. The wife was a gold-digger and made up abuse allegations for a quick divorce and 50% of his stuff. Happens all the time. The husband was not who he said he was and was really poor or a controlling freak. Happens all the time.

I am sorry for all the people who had a bad experience on the 'international dating scene'. But we take a huge risk when we enter into a commited relationship no matter what the circumstances. Here or abroad.

K1 Visa Process long ago and far away...

saw all three of those right away, neither of them make any sence. You either signed a piece of paper in her home country or you didnt, if you didnt then your engaged, if you did your married. also, why would you just buy a ticket for NO reason, and then call to talk to your "fiance" only to find shes "oh my-missing".

No wonder posters don't come back. What if you got mob-jumped and called a troll because the Great Troll Hunter declares it so?

I looked for his old posts.

Sure, it could be an elaborate setup, but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

For the reading-comprehension challenged, he did not think he was married.

And if you think he's an idiot, well, how would you know what the ceremony in a foreign language, in another country, with someone you trust, was reallly all about?

well, why would you sign something you cant read? at my engagement party they spoke in romanian, and then in english so i could understand in full what was going on. (i know romanian but its still not as good as id like it to be) You have someone translate, words or anything on paper. never sign something you cant read in a different language. It could say anything.

Ya got it wrong... read it again.

1. He applied for a k-1 because he didn't realize the engagment ceremony was an actual marriage. I have read this before on VJ.

2. He had a k-1 and you have to marry in 90 days. (see point #1 above)

3. He bought a ticket because their relationship wasn't working out. He was sending her back.
