Hi all,

I am at the end of my leash. Things are piling up in our to do list and I am losing my usually insane mind (so imagine the levels of insanity around our house). I am terrified of the interview, unable to cope.- the mere idea of being denied is terrifying. Then there's the move, the apartment people who are full of sh!t and are requiring our firstborn be signed over to them, people at the College being their usual nasty selves... people at the University being complete azzzzholes.... My god, wish all this was over.

Sorry, I needed to rant a bit. Can't find serenity or peace - and Bren has to suffer my grumpy moods and my crying all the time: I know I am not too much fun to live with nowadays, and I feel so alone.

Ok, that's my rant.

L.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that, but I understand! You are going through this major upheaval and I think your reaction(s) is completely normal!

Time for a realitttttty check. Instead of focusing on how devastating it would be to be denied at the interview try to focus on what they could deny you for (sounds kooky I know). The thing is, you have your ducks in a row, if they deny you on the day it will probably be for something very small that you can clear up in no time, maybe even on the same day. That said, you sound prepared to me from what I have read (and I just know you have read everything).

Any chance you can take a few days off from work? Do you get a long weekend this weekend? Sounds like you really need a break from it all - you can't do everything at once and expect to remain sane, calm and chipper :)

That's good advice. :)

I also have my interview next month. I'm not thinking about the possibility of being denied -- there's no reason for them to deny me, and I doubt there is for you either. But it's possible that either of us will have our visas delayed because they want more documentation. And if they want more, we'll get more. What's a couple more weeks in this long process? We'll get there.

Be positive and smile, lovelyyyy. I know it's tough and often you want to give up and get back to some sort of normalcy but always remember there is a reason behind what you are doing. I hope you feel better soon!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Oh Len,

We're all with you! I don't think anyone who is NOT going through this process has any idea how stressful it is. Even when you think you have it all together there are still thoughts of the unknown that lurk in your brain and everything piles up and meltdowns and crankiness ensue! I'm starting to tear up as I write this - knowing that our interview is coming soon and I still have to get everything in order and then oh yeah, move my LIFE to another country in two months.

So big hugs, babe! You're not alone...

I never thought Andre was going to be denied.....not for one minute.

Things are stressful enough. Put all your focus on the good things going on in your life right now.

How does that song go........"Accentuate the positive...eliminate the negative..."

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Hey Len

it's like comps. painful, annoying hazing ritual but you know and your interviewer knows that you're going to pass.

If you need something to take your mind off all of it, you could head down to Calgary and pack my house too

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

4/1/04 no word from NE contacted senators office, app found

NOA1 4/13/04

Gave up on ridiculously long US process-started Canadian

12/4/04 submitted app

LSS app returned because of missed signatures, lost in transit, resubmitted in June

9/28/05 landed, yippie

10/4/05 fly back to US to "finish up Master's" lose mind and switch to PhD

Damn it back to the US process

3/something/2005 finally get NOA2, no idea why it took so long

4/15/07 get case approval from NVC

8/9/07 Montreal here we come

10/14/07 hubby activated his visa

I kid you not termo.... comps were a FFFF breeze compared to my insanity today - though I see the analogy, and appreciate it~ got through it fter all, so I should be Dr. Queen B!tch and act like it instead of like a litle girl, I know, but I am so nervous lately. I left the College in tears (none of those arrogant bastards in my department will see me cry). and came home - Bren is at the lab on his campus (no surprise there) tying up everything. I am so f'ed up it's not funny.

Thank you all for the good thoughts. There is no reason for denial (that I can think of, my life has beenpretty boring to warrant an RFE or waiver the like), but the stress mounts.

Love you all, L.

Can you guys run away for the weekend? Visit the mountains or something. I'm a big fan of avoidance of stresses like this till you absolutely need to face it. you've got lots of time to pack. go do something that you've thought about doing the whole time you've been in Edmonton but never have. or drink a large quantity of Canadian beer and worry about all of this when your hangover goes away.

this is pretty much the same things that i've been telling the hubby. he's quitting a job that he's had for 15 years, moving from the town he's lived in since undergrad, and in general freaking out. I wish I were there with him-I couldn't really do much other than try to distract him, but over the phone I can't really do much at all. oh well, someday soon we'll be able to look back on this and breath a big sigh of relief that it's over
