You must keep in mind that knowing these little details may be important in some couples relationship, but it isn't in everyones

i totaly agree with the statement above .. but keep in mind that the one who decide weither it's important or not is not you or me , it's the interviewer who decide so !

to all of people who claimed that they can't remember when they start their jobs or when they got their new jobs .. i still remember when my wife had to fill the I130 she had to put the places and the dates where and when she worked within the last 10 years .. i don't know if it's that was also require for the I129 since we didn't need to fill one !

but i'm just wondering how anyone of you was able to fill I130 if you don't remember the dates when you started your jobs within the last 10 years !

i still remember when the consul asked me when my wife got her divorce , as that wasn't the hard part yet ....

the hard part was when he asked me WHY ? while answered his both questions but yet i still can't see what was sooo important in these questions to be asked OR in which way would these questions help him to decide if we know each other ?

Personally I had to call my employer and ask them when my start date was. I knew the year, just not the month and date. As for my divorce I had the date on my divorce papers so I just looked at that but right now I couldn't tell you when it was. It is not the date you go to court, not that I remember THAT date either, it's some odd days after the court decision is ruled.

jeeeshh... you know.. i can kind of see both sides here. I mean, I had to call my human resources dept to find out my date of employment and look through divorce papers to find out date of my divorce. I think a reasonable question actually would have been a reason for my divorce. And if they wanted to ask dates, well ok.. thats fine, BUT.. it shouldnt have been a determining factor.. but thats just me!

Oh most definitely the REASON for the divorce is something that he should know, but ironically that's not even on any of the documents that they have so how would they even know he's not making it up? As a matter of fact most of the information that I would expect a true husband/fiance to know about, the consular would have no clue . Things like, what are her children's likes/dislikes, why did she get divorced, what do you love about her, how does she like her tea/coffee, does she snore, what side of the bed does she sleep on, etc. etc.

Actually thats a really good point, THEY dont have the answers to that. They are probably just trying to get a feel for how the question is answered, with confidence? with stammering or a blank stare? I would have to guess that the actual answer isnt the issue. Interesting, though.

I'm sorry to hear of your situation. You are not alone. You are not in AR, your case has been returned for review/revocation because the CO believes your relationship is for immigration purposes only. For Egypt and too many other countries, there is poor training and even poorer supervision. They are not supposed to re-adjudicate the petition and must have substantial evidence of fraud, however in reality a simple suspicion or jumping to conclusions is enough.

It kills me that they still tell people to contact Athens, I think it is just to send you on a wild goose chase. Athens does NOTHING with I-129F petitions but send them to NVC. NVC just ticks off that another one came back and forwards it to the Service Center. CSC is notorious for letting K1 petitions expire and never sending out a Notice of Intent to Deny.

Did your fiance get a 221g letter with anything on it? If the embassy denies a visa (which is what they did here), they are supposed to tell you in writing (the 221g) why and they are supposed to give you a chance to respond. Again, in practice I've seen them say nothing at all before sending it back, just go about their business but your life is now on hold for the next 1-2 years.

You CAN submit a new petition, include notice in a separate letter about the prior petition, include all info you can think of as to the possible accusations they may have used to jump to their conclusions of fraud (ex. wife is older than husband, prior marriage, etc.) You can also wait for the NOID from CSC to respond to the returned petition, but unless CSC has changed in the last couple years, you may be waiting a LONG time. If you do ever get an NOID, be SURE to respond to it with your evidence to rebut the accusation, otherwise they will stick your spouse with a misrep charge for fraud (again even though they are not supposed to).
