DS3032 sent by both email and postal mail !

Hi,

I am just wondering, if DS3032 is sent via email and then a paper copy is also sent to NC via mail later just as a back up in case the email thing doesn't work or isn't accepted - what would happen in such a case? Would NVC get really confused and the process delayed?

I'd like to have my beneficiary send the completed DS3032 to NVC from overseas by postal mail, and also in the mean time send it via email. Just wanted to know what people think of this.

It's unclear what will happen in such a case. My educated guess is that it would most likely cause no confusion to the NVC as long as the information is exactly the same in both cases. However, the NVC may become confused when they are waiting an IV bill payment from you and instead you send them another DS-3032. My opinnion is that your spouce e-mails them first AND sends YOU (not NVC) a paper format of the DS-3032. If the NVC for some reason doens't accept or process the e-mail (they have lately been extremely slow) you have the paper format as a backup. If needed, it's quicker to send the DS-3032 from your recidency anywhere in the US than it is from anywhere abroad (maybe except Canada). I personally did just this but the NVC accepted our e-mail ten days from sending it so the paper version became never useful :).

Ok, what you are asking is what happened to me. Following the shortcuts I e-mailed the choice of agent, but NVC is getting slower with e-mails. They did not process my e-mail when I actually received my hard copy in the mail so I filled it out and mailed it back with express mail. A day or two later I received the confirmation to my e-mail and some days after they must have received my hard copy. So no confusion my process kept going, but my advice is not to e-mail anything as they are pretty slow right now, if you want to use the shortcuts print it out, modify it using James shortcut 2.0 and send it. In my case e-mailing the choice of agent didn't save me any time.

This is just my personal opinion, however I think you should really choose one or the other, email or hard copy.

Personally I would just use the hard copy at this point as they are obviously not getting to the emails in a timely manner.

If everyone sends an email and a hard copy then we are basically just wasting their time. For each piece of paper we send and every email we send there is a person on the other end who has to open it, read it and check the file. If we duplicate paperwork - we duplicate their effort and waste their time - again, just my opinion.
