I have been trying to call the number to get the transcripts but can't get through. For a couple of days, there was just a clicking sound. Today it rang, but noone answered. I know I've tried to call the IRS before from here and the number that I had said I couldn't call it from this area. So, maybe I have the wrong number? Anyone else have problems getting through? What number are you using?

Thanks!

Tammy

I got my documents by faxing them. There is never an issue with not getting through on the phone. If you fax or mail you will need form 4506. Go to the website below and download the form and mail or fax it in. You will get a response in no more than 14 working days, I've received documents in 10 working days or less.

Found the number the guy said worked for him

1 800 829 0922.

I tried that 1-800 number from here in Canada, it just rings and no one answers then it hangs up, I would just use the Philadelphia number.

Be sure to request them in plenty of time. I requested mine a few months ago, they didn't show up after a couple of weeks so I called back, yes, they have been mailed, etc etc.. To make a long story short they never did show up in the mail and I called back and had them fax them to me (big fax btw - 27 pages for 3 years).

trailmix-Thank you!! I was going batty trying to get through with that 800 number. I'll give the other one a try! How long did it take them to get the fax to you? And 27 pages...wow!! I was going to get transcripts as well for 7 years for reporting our children's births, but I don't think I'll do that now! LOL EXPENSIVE!

She faxed them to me while I was waiting on the phone, so it was immediate (but she felt bad because she could see I had ordered them like 4 weeks previously and already called and still hadn't received them).
