Get this.

I had a friend who married this woman. She already had a BA degree, but decided to go back to school at an expensive private college because she wanted a different major.

Her husband worked all day, then went grocery shopping before coming back. Pretty normal.

However, she didn't know how to cook and wasn't really interested in learning, so he cooked. Then afterwards she had to study, so he did dishes and then laundry. She also was against cleaning bathrooms, so guess who got stuck with those chores?

Her contribution was making the bed in the morning. I think.

They were married for 7 years when they had marital problem, but it wasn't the guy getting sick of her lazy butt. She was getting sick of him!

They went to counseling and 'worked things out,' and during this time she got pregnant.

I shudder to think about how the new baby is going to affect their household chore load. Heck, if the guy's breasts could lactate I'd bet he'd be doing the feedings. As it stands he may be the one who mixes the formula or something. I haven't bothered to ask.

I honestly think this couple and that scenario is one big reason why I delayed thoughts of marriage. I mean, I can't imagine any American female putting up with 1/2 the garbage that guy put up with.

bloody feminazis!

It was sad. I saw this ####### with my own eyes and it is a first hand account.

As far as contributing to household chores, if I am working and my wife is at home I think she should be in the 80-90% range of duties.

Problem is I have not met a woman near my age who cooks better than me. I'm a good cook and experienced in several styles from American to Chinese to Indian to Mexican to Italian to Vietnamese to Thai to Japanese to French cooking, so I can make up strange fusion dishes that sometimes are amazing and other times you can't really eat it, but it is always an adventure. :)

Heck, my sister can't cook, my last 3 girlfriends I cooked meals for and they couldn't cook, my mother didn't cook....

Feminism has honestly made a generation of women who feel entitled to all the traditional benefits of being the 'bread winner,' while at the same time scorning traditional homemaking and housework.

Honestly, I feel lucky to have a girl hold her own weight and want to share the cooking and is happy sharing the domestic housework depending on who is working, schedules, and overall fairness.

Housework  Can I find a definition in the dictionary

Traditional housework is:

1) Buying groceries and supplies

2) Prepping and Cooking

3) Cleaning dishes

4) Vacuuming

5) Dusting

6) Cleaning everything in the bathroom and kitchen

7) Laundry

8) Paying bills (sometimes, depends on the couple)

9) Errands like dry cleaning, picking up the kids, dropping off at school

Basically everything my friend did as the male, solo income generator, while his wife sat at home trying to grow herself into the next zip code.

I was joking. Don't blame that on feminism. Any group who is marginalized becomes reactionary to varying degrees with some becoming militant. My inkling is that as equality in the workplace levels off, domestic responsibilities will also level off.

my husband didn't really do any housework period, even before he was married.. his mommy and aunt and sister cleaned for him :P

He never lived alone???

he did live alone , they would come to his place once in awhile and while there they would clean for him :P his mom would even iron all his clothes for him, even his white undershirts  .. of course I let him know that I don't iron unless absolutely necessary, like dress shirts etc... but I am not going to iron his t-shirts....

did you know that if you voluntarily helped out around the house that you might get more sex...??;)

by the time the woman is finished doing all the household chores by herself she is too tired to have sex :P

I was thinking it would be the inevitable bumping of sweaty bodies into each other that would raise that statistic.
