Has anyone gone for the medical exam and needed vaccinations? If this is the case, will the physician give the needed vaccinations then, or will we have to go get the vaccinations before the interview. If the interview date is close to the medical exam and we are unable to get the vaccinations by interview time, will the embassy hold off on granting the visa until all vaccinations are complete?

Thanks

If you don't have your vaccination records, try getting them and bring them to the medical. IF this is not possible, tell the doctor and he/she will usually perform a titres test and after let you know which vaccinations you need. And yes, all vaccinations need to be in order for you to pass the medical and go on to the embassy portion (except in some cases where interview and medical happen the same day, it depends on the consulate's internal procedures).

Hope this helps.

my wife had lost her vacination card, so she was going to have to get some shots. we asked about doing it before hand. turns out in our case it was cheaper and easier to just get it done at the time of the medical exam. after reviewing her records, the doctor said she only need to the MMR and DPT. the only thing i would recommend as a concern with getting the shots at the medical is that 1 in 20 people have a reaction with the MMR shot about 7-12 days after receiving the shot. so if you can help it, try to get the medical done at least 14 days before your interview. you don't want to be sick at the interview.

Hey,

Yes, he will get needed vaccines at the medical how ever much is needed with out without immunization records. The bad thing about having the medical too close to the interview is that the medical results won't get to the the embassy in time for the interview and he will have his interview and give him an approval until the medical is in, so he would have to go back on the date they give him, something like a month later.

Good luck, hope this helped a little

In Naples, the medical is done one day before the interview and all the needed vaccines that are not on your vaccination card are done that day. So you'll get a shot for everything that is mendatory and that you cannot prove to have done already no matter if you need it or not. this is the procedure in Naples, other countries seem to have different procedures, why don't you just give them a call and check.
