hello everyone,,,

my wife just got the K3 visa and will be here on this monday :) so I started looking at the AOS proc/documents. For I-693A vaccination supplemental form, I called around atleast 40 doctors (today  ) but following are the responses I got...

38 of them said : you need to get the full medical done (pay anywwhere from 150 to 500)

1 of them said : you dont need medical, I will look at the form ds-3025 and fill out 693A form

but you need to have 2 doses of MMR and vericella.? where the hell this did this come

from? On ds-3025 from our foreign country it says vaccination reqs. are met. why

two doses?

1 left message

I am located in chicago, IL region. What did you guys do for this? Is there any easy way? or do I just keep calling until I find

a valid/good answer..?? And, is it true about needing 2 doses of MMR & vericella..?

after my wife got the visa, I thought my worries are over..but I guess not :help:

please provide any help on this one

thanks

Dealing with civil surgeons can be very difficult. Many don't understand the regs and are interesting in taking advantage. Your best bet is to fine the one that is offering you the cheapest path and take that just to get the document completed. They will put it in a sealed envelope so ask them to make you a copy before it is sealed.

Good luck

If you do some searching, you will see a number of VJ'ers have used Dr Arnold (myself included). Call the office, they will tell you what you need to send. You may have to leave a message, but they will return your call. Can all be done through the mail, probably for $10.

thanks man..the above mentioned above is great..!! just one more question though. some of the doctors also mentioned that my wife would need two doses of MMR and Vericella. Is that true.? she just had 1 shot for eatch MMR/Vericella at the time of medical. can AOS application be denied if my wife just has 1 does of each?

thanks for everyone's help :)

What would Dr. Arnold advice in that case ? If it says requirements met it could mean they are met at the medical but not fully met

for AOS.

I would think that they will look at the final CS notes whether everything is met or not. If Arnold says it is complete without more vaccs

then they will accept that in my opinion. If he says you need more then get them.

Let us know what you find out.

My husband also needed the varicella for the civil surgeon to complete the vaccination supplement. It is a 2 dose vaccine, but getting the first dose was enough for the civil surgeon to complete the form. We mailed the sealed envelope and had no trouble getting the aos approved.

ETA: My husband had the vaccine done for less money at a local immunization clinci and we took the records of the vaccine to the civil surgeon. We were charged $15 for the form to be completed- no office visit required.

Since vaccinations are not required to obtain a visa, a panel physician could conceivably mark the DS-3025 'vaccine requirements met'.

Always consult the vaccination chart at uscis.gov to determine your vaccine needs for AOS. Vaccines are age appropriate so different people will have different needs.
