Leaving USA with a Greencard

I had my AOS interview in february, I have a greencard which is good till next year when i have to apply for removal of conditions.

I have to leave for Romania in a month....what do i need?? just my greencard and the passport and my marriage certificate??? ( my passport is on my maiden name )

I wanted to ask you guys cause you know EVERYTHING, didnt wanna call the missinformation line...who knows what they're gonna tell me :innocent:

please help :help:

I went back to England recently with my passport and greencared. I had changed my name so there was need for the marriage cert but I carry all that stuff anyways (force of habit) It was wierd being able to come and go as I please. We're planning on another trip next year now.

My Timeline or lack of:-

08-29-2000 First met

03-02-2004 He proposed

03-19-2004 Married Cincinnati, OH

03-25-2004 Forms filled waiting on Certified Marriage License.

03-29-2004 3 Copies of certified marriage license handed to me at the local probate court with the $2 per copy fee waived!!!

04-17-2004 FULL packet mailed off finally to Cincinnati Local office.

04-29-2004 Recieve NOA for I-130 and I-485 for our son.

05-01-2004 Recieve NOA for I-130, I-485 and EAD for me.

06-15-2004 Appointment for Fingerprinting and Biometrics at Cincy Sub office. - DONE!

06-17-2004 Cases status for AOS's and EAD updated on USCIS website.

06-21-2004 Fingerprinting review recieved by MSC for I-485's processing resumed.

07-06-2004 Change of addresses sent out to Nebraska, Kentucky and Cincinnati.

08-04-2004 EAD Approved.

08-16-2004 Applied for SSN card at local SSA, relatively painless but with a quirk.

01-30-2006 Interview Cincinnati, APPROVED pending Medical and Vaccination Supplement.

03-14-2006 We're PREGNANT!!

03-23-2006 AOS Notice recieved!!!!

04-03-2006 Cards recieved!

04-24-2006 Miscarriage 12w

04-01-2007 Miscarriage 6w

06-01-2007 Fertility testing begins

07-29-2007 First trip back to England in 4 years.

03-26-2009 DS2 Arrival 7lb 8oz

05-17-2010 We're expecting AGAIN!!

01-13-2011 DD Arrival 6lb 6oz

We went to England in January this year and it was fine, all they wanted to see was my GC an my passport...although I did have my Marriage Certificate nobody asked to see it, but I would take it with you just in case.

One thing to remember is to book your ticket in the name that is on your passport.

Have a wonderful trip.

05/31/2007 - Package received by NSC

06/01/2007 - Date on NOA (1 day after they received our package!)

06/11/2007 - NOA and Biometrics notice received via snail-mail

06/21/2007 - Biometrics taken

04/03/2008 - Transferred to CSC

05/14/2008 - Approved (notified via email)

05/21/2008 - Card received

people !!!! listen to this chit!!!! OMG i cannot believe it, im in complete shock... :angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

my husband called uscis, just to call, and the bi****tch he talked to told him that i need advance parole to travel to romania...i need to have that with my greencard..this is unbelievable..i knew they were complete morons, but that topped it all..

now, please, the ones that traveled with the greencard, JUST the greencard outside the US, reassure me that its all i need...please.....cause im about to spend 4000$ on tickets and if i cannot leave, ill shoot myself !!!!! :help::crying:

We went back to Nepal in June and had no trouble re-entering the country with passports and greencards for my husband and son. We did carry certified copies of our marriage certificate just in case, since I kept my maiden name.

Not to worry! They (the greencards) do seem to work! I was a little disappointed when we re-entered the US because the greencard reader at the CPB booth we got was broken, so they couldn't pull up all the fancy biometric stuff I guess. But the CPB officer entered some numbers into his computer off the cards (A numbers maybe) and said "welcome home".

PS just read your post about the AP... what nonsense... I bet if he calls USCIS back, he'll get a different answer...
