Hi all,

I have been reviewing the posted requirements for the K1 Fiancée packet 3 and the I-134 and have a few questions. We got our NOA2 on Aug 3rd!! And by the way, I submitted the I-129 w-out a lawyer and basically by following the advice on this site got no RFE's :)

- I am expecting the Packet 3 about 4 to 5 weeks after the NOA2 date is that about right?

1- Does the packet 3 get sent to her address in Mexico or mine in the US?

2- Will we receive the I-134 or the I-184 for a K1? (I think it’s the I –134)

3- With the I-134 do I have to send it ahead of time to the NVC or to the Consulate or neither and instead have my Fiancee just bring it to the Interview?? I can’t seem to find a clear answer on this one.

4- Does my fiancée need to get a police statement from Mexico? I read on the Juarez Consulate site that Mexico and many other countries do not provide these and don’t try to get it??

5- I’ve read that after she sends in the checklist and required forms showing she has gathered all the items for the interview and verifies that they indeed have received the checklist that we can then go any weekday for an interview at CJ Consulate, true?

Thanks in advance, James

James, take a look at the Juarez thread - all the information you need is there.

There is no packet three or "checklist" to return. Everything they send is available on their website. They send it to both addresses. You are only waiting for the official open appointment letter - everything else can be filled out beforehand and should be since many forms have to be done online with the barcode generated. It could take 2 months before the approved petition passes through the NVC to CDJ and they sent out the packet - no way to tell. But you can email them once you know it has left the NVC to ask them if they have received it and/or sent out the packet. They don't use the I-134 or I-864 but most people use the I-134 because it's easier. There are no police certificates available in Mexico and they are not required.

Start by reading their Fiance Packet information on their website and then the Juarez thread.

1.The pack3 will get sent to her in Mexico and not to the US

2. She will recieve the I134 as an example in Pack3 (thats what happend in my case. However you are going to have to doenload it from the internet and fill it in that way.)

3. Once you have followed all the instructions of the I134 you mail it to your fiance and NOT anywhere else, she will need it for her interview.

4.Yeah she will need a police record from all places lived over the age of 16.However I dont know how Mexico provides them, your gonna have to look ino that.

5.Depends on the country I guess,in my case I sent of the checklist once I had all the documents, within a week I got an interview appointment.

Good luck

??????

Consulates action differ by country.

Mexico sends the Fiance packet to BOTH the fiance in Mexico and the US petitioner.

There is no I-134 in the Fiance Packet because Mexico DOES NOT USE the I-134.

No police certificates are required in Mexico
