Interview date today 08-28-07 using the DORA program(Dallas) and submitted AOS/EAD/AP applications along with the new pricing $1010.00 (whew). The officer said all was good. The officer did gave us a verbal RFE(I-693 Immunizations) but the officer submitted the applications any ways. During the interview my fiance told the officer that all her immunizations/physical etc... was with the sealed packet that she left at the POE in Dallas. She figured that USCIS would already have her immunizations already in hand and would not have to worry about seeing a Civil Surgeon in the States. The Officer said that her paper work is still probably at the airport. All in all the Officer was really nice and asked us the following questions: How we met? and Did i meet my fiance's family? The officer then asked my fiance the govermental questions: are you a terrorists ..etc.? So now we wait. The officer said that fingerprinting would be in several weeks, but we are not holding are breath, so we will see.

Anyways, i'm confused about the RFE-I-693 mentioned above. Is the physical\immunizations that was left at the airport-POE in the sealed packet what happened to that. thanks ya'll. :P

The immunization form required for AOS is the I-693A (Known also as the Immunization supplement).

Officially, If your fiancee has had their K-1 physical within the past year, the USCIS just needs the supplement (I-693A) filled out by a Civil Surgeon. -- Of course, there has been a few RFEs recently for full physicals because the POE or USCIS misplaced the I-693 that she would have brought with her.......Although, it's not your fault they misplaced it, you get stuck with having to sort it out by either Congressional inquiry or a new physical. Cross the bridge, IF and when you get there (Here's hoping you don't have to!!)

If your wife has an extra copy of her State Department form listing her immunization, you can call a couple local Civil Surgeons and ask how much they will charge to transcribe it to the I-693A. (Of course, the USCIS can't accept a US State Dept form......no, no. That would mean they are actually working together on something ;) ) If she doesn't have a spare copy, she may be able to request one from the hostpital/Doctor who did it for her back in her home country.

Luckily, My wife did have a second copy and we were able to find a Civil Surgeon that was willing to listen and read the printed USCIS web page stating all we need was the I-693A supplement, not the full physical. Cost us $80, but she got a chickenpox shot out of the deal.

Hope that helps and that I didn't screw up too badly!

Good Luck!

Silverpanther,

Wow. What a nightmare of a ride. I trust the pain of the last year is already passing now that you are both together.

I was hoping you could help me understand a portion of your timeline, specifically your EAD. We just received our K-3 I-129F NOA2, so I'm trying to get educated on the final steps. Receiving employment authorization quickly is important for financial reasons.

In your timeline, it shows you were "Walk-In." I was thinking this was no longer possible. Were you able to do that under some special circumstances? It would be great to cut the wait time down as much as possible. I'd take a two-day trip to a Service Center if I could. It appears that I'm suppose to mail my form into CSC now, since the fee increase, July 30, 2007. I don't like the idea of waiting on them AGAIN!

Well any information you can share would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your marriage.

Good evening,

Robin
