Can some of you post some German recipes that include ingredients that are easy to find here. I do not know how to make German food but I miss my mom's "Rotkohl". I am craving it right now with a roast, potatoes and gravy! OMG :blush:

AOS (My case was expedited due to husband going to Iraq):

*Filed for AOS - 4/20/07

*Found out in the beginning of June that husband is going to Iraq

*NOA for I-485 - 6/11/07

*Made Infopass appointment to get case expedited due to deployment (Infopass appt 6/12/07)

*Biometrics - 7/7/07

*Interview date - 7/11/07

*I-485 Aprroval date- 7/11/07

*Green Card Received- 7/19/07

Removal of Conditions:

*Filed petition to remove conditions on 6/9/09

*NOA- 6/15/09

*Biometrics Appt. in Birmingham - 8/6/09

*Lifting of Conditions Approval Date - 10/22/09

*Waiting for Green Card!

Had our daughter on 4/4/08 and have another baby due 11/19/09!!!

I don't know how to make Rotkohl but whenever I crave that kind of food I go to World Market. They have German red cabbage in jars and German Sauerkraut.

I also use Chefkoch.de for most of my recipes. I just love to browse for new ideas. And if you need some ingredients, check out germandeli.com, they might be able to help you out if you can't get it locally.

Spätzle hab ich schon bei World Market und Whole Foods gesehen. Aber es geht doch nichts über selbstgemachte! :blush: Ich muss mich vielleicht doch mal an den Rezepten versuchen... meine Schwester hat mir das Basic Cooking Kochbuch von GU mitgebracht und da sind lauter tolle Rezepte drin.

hab nen laden gefunden wo man sie kaufen kann ,

( aber mach es meistens selber auser wenn ich nen faulen tag hab , LOL )

wenn ihr den laden JOBLOT kennt schaut euch mal drin rum dorht haben sie ein paar gute deutsche sachen und nicht teuer ,

auch in der pharmacy Brooks kann mann die haribo gummibaeren kaufen ,

Rotkohl und sauerkraut im glass , und deutsche bratwurst kann mann in stop N shop finden ,

hoffe ihr habt die stores dohrt wo ihr seit ( glaub aber schon , mein fiance ist in mass er hat familie in jersey hab die laden hier in mass und auch in jersey gesehen ) veil glueck mit dem lecker einkaufen :P

Man kann Haribo fast überall finden. Vor einigen Jahren war's nicht ganz so einfach, aber die Welt wird immer kleiner:) Bei Target konnte man früher Rittersport kaufen, aber ich weiss nicht ob es immer noch zu finden ist.

hier kannst die rittersport in brooks oder auch stop n shop finden ( sogar milka schokolade in brooks )

bin ein schokoholic verputz ne taffel am tag , lol hmmmmmmmmmmm
