Flowers will be seen as a bribe... B)

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The purpose of the call is to iron out the details of how to maximize the media coverage. Sending flowers is more about coverage and not to further our own individual case. It is not recommended at all to submit cards with the flowers including your name, A# or case number (in response to the bribe & watch list comments :D).

in other news, the fbi announced today that september 17-21st is ""spousal appreciation week" and large quantities of flowers will be delivered to the office for the employees to take home

lol ~ yes this is not a new "gimmic" another group used this method as well and the flowers were donated to a hospital. Again the FBI is NOT the audience.

Last night was our first call for the flower campaign. Thanks to everyone who joined!

We drew from the discussion we would like a bit more time to work on the date as other groups are rallying and we do not want the message to be lost.

The message, to clarify, is that long security check delays are first and foremost a security risk. These checks should be quickly resolved simply for the benefit of security. The delays are also unfair to immigrants. The DHS does acknowledge the issue, which only helps the cause.

It is important to note that the audience is NOT the FBI, but the nation through media. We have much motivation and support and want to take this first step in building awareness for this issue.

Our next call will be September 26th to finalize the date, and to fine tune the procedure. :D

And it's not a quid pro quo thing anyway. This is really a great idea. It's a lot easier to hide angry letters than it is a bunch of flowers.

Maybe everyone doing this should pick a single flower type... was there a Victorian-era flower symbol for 'move yo' ###!'

 they were suggesting "forget-me-nots" for the symbolism, but again - this is NOT to further individual cases :D

I think forget-me-nots are a good idea.

Good luck to everyone and I hope it goes well. My concern would be taxing the already understaffed with other diversions which may take time away from processing apps!

ETA: forget me nots are a great choice though!

Eh, it'll be a few minutes out of their day... if the publicity gets Congress to authorize more funding for staff, it'll be worth the slight delay.

I have not reached the point in the process yet where an FBI check has been required. Can someone fill me in on what this is about and when I can look forward to this part of the process. As of now I am still awaiting NOA2.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

This is an excellent idea, LaL, keep us posted on it all!

Just a quick update :

Call 9/26

Discussed was a lower cost event to have a greater impact. Forget-me-not seed packages would offer lower cost, and ability to disperse easily at a cost of $.35 a package. This way we can send them to the contacts of the FBI, Congress, etc.

Paul will do a write up and we will go from there (still no official sending date).
