Hi All, Quick question, I have my K1 Visa and will be traveling to the USA in early November. The date for the wedding is 24th but I can get a really cheap ticket with I have an out bound date of november 9th and a return date of November 20th . Could there be any problems with this when it comes to the port of entry experience. Could they dennie me entry for having a return ticket with a date before my wedding?

thanks

James

It doesn't matter one way or another. Those processing you through your POE won't ask if you have a return ticket or not.

We had a one way ticket. No one asked us anything at all about the ticket.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

You will not be denied. In fact, I think it's encouraged to get a round trip ticket. Good luck!

Will the fact that the return ticket date is 4 days before the wedding date be a problem?

James and Tracy,

No - you could have a return date set for November 10 for all intents and purposes - or no return at all - it doesn't matter. They know why you are coming, and will not ask for, or look at your ticket. Put those worries behind you...it's all good.

As long as the dates on your K1 Visa are not expired you will be fine.

The Immigration Officer should not be interested in a return ticket anyway, because the visa states that you will stay in the US. When I entered on K1 I had a return flight as well (cause it was cheaper to book a roundtrip ticket) but nobody even asked about it. They only do that when you enter on a tourist visa.

Good luck!

Hopefully this will be your first attempt to enter with your K1 visa. If so, buy the least expensive ticket you can find and do not worry about the date of the return ticket. They will not care about your wedding date at the Point of Entry (POE) other than to perhaps tell you that you have 90 days to get married.

They might ask you about the return trip ticket if they notice it. This is because if you were to use it, you might not be able to get back into the US unless you took certain steps before you left. If you just tell them you will not be using the return trip ticket everything will be fine.

Best of luck!
