My dad had black hair and dark brown eyes and I still ended up with my mama's blue eyes. You reckon there was a devil hiding in the wood pile? ;)

Your Dad's parents must have had blue eyes.

Not necessarily.

Well this article does have many valid points. There is still an existing one child per couple policy, although many families do seem to bend the rules and try for 2 kids, but that makes their lives harder.

Materialism is also permeating through their society. The poor remain very poor and are stuck there and there is this 5% elite crust of society controlling the vast majority of wealth and resources. Sort of like the US.

It's pretty hard to bridge a cultural, language, distance, societal expectations, and other differences between two countries like the US and China. Coming over to the US I am sure many will be disappointed because you may earn 30x more money or your husband earns way more, but your cost of living is also 30x higher, so there are many situations where it is a draw.

I mean it is nice you can drive a car here, but in China you can walk down the street for shopping, restaurants, entertainment, so is driving 10-15 min to a strip mall or commuting 45min+ to work an improvement? You can buy a place to live in China for $20K US or less, but over here even a starter home is $200K+. The variety of food and the life people live in China's larger cities is highly comparable to the US in several important areas and there really isn't as much of a difference as some people think.

Americans may be disappointed as well because if they are not fluent and can't communicate, then that makes things hard. Also, the problem with materialistic tendencies is people adjust very fast and if she was after money and wealth she'll soon be comparing against your peers and those who are far better off financially and she won't be thinking about how much better her life is now in that area when compared to China.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

The dad was obviously a carrier (i.e. Bb). His parents could have been any of the following combinations: BB/Bb, Bb/Bb, Bb/bb. Only the last scenario indicates a blue-eyed grandparent.

Also no way two blue-eyed parents can have a brown-eyed child.

Note to self #1...Keep hubby-to-be within US borders

Note to self #2...Write a book "how to catch a foreign husband in 12 easy steps....I did it, so can you!". Make lots of money. Then loose this money gambling in Vegas.

I did the math...Jvk has green eyes, and so did my mom, so our kids have 50% chance of inheriting that eye color :reading:

it's something, right? ;)

well speaking of eyes I saw the most exotic looking half breed oriental baby, well todler to be correct. His mom was asian she looked like your typical regular chinese gal with dark eyes and dark straight hair. Any ways her son was milky white with very very very light brown hair almost redish in color and his eyes were some sort of color I could not figure it out. He had the typical slanted asian eyes but they were like brownish green or something. I did not want to stare so much but the kid sure did look cute. Maybe this kid was a one off thing or maybe he was adopted if that is not genetically possible. He sure did look like he was a cross breed of asian and cacausian blood. I think mixed children are so cute and exotic at times.
